What inspired you to pursue a degree in counseling or social work?
I’ve known I wanted to be a therapist since I was 13 years old! I’ve always felt a pull to helping others, and loved learning about the way the mind works. I decided on a degree in social work specifically because I felt that it opened up the most opportunities as far as careers that I could choose.
Why did you ultimately decide to offer counseling services at a private practice?
After working for 10 years in nonprofit mental health care, I was ready for a position that offered better work-life balance and where I was able to practice independently.


What do you enjoy most about your profession?
Celebrating my clients’ victories, big and small.
What is your favorite aspect of working with Jones-Wood Psychological Associates?
I appreciate the supportive work environment, my relationships with other therapists and staff, and the clientele that I serve.
What is the most important career lesson you’ve learned?
That I have really good instincts, and really good training, and that it is okay to trust myself.
Do you have a favorite mental health mantra, affirmation, inspirational quote, or piece of advice?
Worrying just means you suffer twice.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
Spending time with my family and time outdoors – skiing, running, hiking, sitting.

Any form of pasta

Anything fantasy
What is your favorite TV show?
I don’t really watch TV! The Pitt has been one recently I’ve enjoyed.

Taylor Swift
What is your favorite book or genre?
Kingdom of Ash. I read a lot and fantasy tends to be my favorite.
What is something about yourself that surprises people?
One of my biggest hobbies is playing legacy board games with friends.
