Jones-Wood Psychological Associates, Inc. offers individualized testing for children and adolescents in grades K-12 to identify potential areas of giftedness and provide recommendations to families and school-based team members based on students’ specific learning needs. We utilize assessments based on Ohio’s approved list for gifted identification.
What is Giftedness?
In Ohio schools, gifted education is often available to students who perform at/above the 95th percentile on individualized measures of cognitive ability and/or academic achievement in reading, writing, math, science, or social studies. Gifted learners require enrichment with rigorous, stimulating coursework, not just more assignments to complete. They sometimes require social support as they attempt to navigate complex social situations. Your child may be eligible for gifted education through a Written Education Plan (WEP) based on their unique strengths and needs, as well as their school’s service delivery model.

Testing is easy to schedule. You simply need to:
- Email at us at jwpchagrin@jones-woodpsychological.com
- Indicate you are interested in testing for giftedness
- State your child’s name and date of birth
- Identify the school your child attends, and if possible, the contact person at the school
- who requires the report and their testing guidelines
- We can typically get your child in within 2-3 weeks
- All the testing is usually completed in 1 visit
Fees
Testing for giftedness is a self-pay service. Depending on your school’s guidelines, the pricing is as
follows:
- Achievement testing only: $400
- Achievement + intelligence testing: $650
- Full independent educational evaluation: $950
Results
We are able to get your results of testing within 1-2 weeks of the appointment in most cases.
