Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is characterized by difficulties with inattention, hyperactivity, and/or impulsivity. There are many other mental disorders that share symptoms in common, so differential diagnosis is very important. ADHD testing performed by a licensed psychologist is the key to ensuring an accurate diagnosis.
Jones-Wood Psychological Associates, Inc. performs ADHD testing for adults, adolescents, and children ages 4 years and older.
Depending on the age of the client, our test battery typically includes:
- Clinical interview
- IQ testing
- Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Fifth Edition (WISC-V) or Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale-Fifth Edition (WAIS-5)
- Attention testing
- Conners’ Continuous Performance Test-Third Edition (CPT-3)
- Self-report inventory or parent-report inventory of specific ADHD symptoms
- Other effort or neuropsychological tests are added, as needed
These evaluations typically involve 2 to 3 hours of face-to-face contact. If a written report is requested, perhaps for a 504 plan or IEP for school or testing accommodations for college, we can certainly provide this.
